Jenny Anderton is a highly experienced social worker and senior manager with extensive knowledge of learning disability services. She is highly skilled in working directly with people and their families to gain a good understanding of what they think good services look like. Involvement and engagement is a corner stone of the Care Act and will becoming increasing important for Local Authorities to understand and do well when designing services.
Her recent career roles have included NHS Yorkshire and the Humber programme lead for learning disabilities and also regional lead for the National Valuing People programme for Yorkshire and the Humber. Not only does Jenny have very wide knowledge of policy and practice in services, she has an in-depth experience of the provider sector and service development as she has been a manager within and an external adviser to providers and has helped to lead and support transformational change.
